THE 8 RADIANT SUN TIPS

BE SUN-CONSCIOUS

An attractive tan should be acquired cautiously and gradually. It is crucial to know your own skin type and adhere to the recommended sun time and dosage. Normally, 8-10 tanning sessions will result in a beautiful tan.

If you have taken a longer break from the sun, it is best to start again with time and dosage adjustments.

THE 8 RADIANT SUN TIPS

  1. Respect the recommended tanning times for your specific skin type to achieve a beautiful and long-lasting tan.
  2. Cleanse the skin of all cosmetics and perfume before tanning, as perfume can cause lasting discoloration of the skin.
  3. Avoid exceeding the recommended sun time and refrain from further sunbathing on the same day.
  4. If you have many liver spots, consult your doctor for advice on sun and tanning beds.
  5. Always remember to use tanning goggles.
  6. Take a break from the sun for about four weeks each year.
  7. Be aware of concurrent use of sun treatments and medication. Some medications can increase the skin's UV sensitivity, leading to sunburn. Consult your doctor if you are unsure.
  8. Remove any jewelry before tanning to avoid possible allergic reactions, white spots, and streaks.

Be Careful

Moderate UV radiation creates a protective barrier in the skin. The penetrating UV-B rays stimulate the production of melanin, which protects the cell nucleus.

A visit to a tanning bed can serve as an initial preparation for a sunny vacation, but it should be done gradually and without exposing the skin to sunburn. It typically takes 3-4 weeks to develop a basic tan. Depending on the dosage, a sun protection factor between 4 and 8 can be built up. It is recommended to sunbathe once or twice a week during this period.

How often?

We recommend a maximum of 50 tanning sessions per year. This applies to both outdoor sun exposure and tanning beds. There should be at least 40 hours between each tanning session.

Color Variation

The speed and intensity of tanning are genetically determined, as we are born with an inherited skin color. The ability of pigment-producing cells to produce more or less pigment depends on this.

Outdoor Sun or Tanning Bed?

In tanning beds, a sun-like spectrum is used for tanning. Unlike outdoor sun exposure, there is a time-controlled and skin type-adapted treatment environment. The light composition remains constant here. In outdoor sun exposure, the irradiation intensity varies.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Most commonly, these white spots occur on the shoulder blades or above the buttocks and are caused by pressure on the body when lying in a tanning bed. The pressure inhibits blood circulation in these areas of the body. These areas do not tan because the blood does not supply the necessary oxygen for the tanning process.

TIP: Turn onto your stomach when half of the treatment time has passed, and these exposed areas will also become tan.
